Hi Folks,

We are pleased to again offer fresh-picked apples from Mercier Orchards in Blue Ridge, Georgia. The orchard expects the eleven varieties of apples listed below to be available when we pickup, however as in years past, it is possible that one or more varieties become unavailable by the time we pick up. In those cases, the orchard substitutes a variety that is out of stock for one that is comparable. 

The following varieties of apples are available for pre-order: Arkansas Black, Braeburn, Cameo, Crimson Crisp, EverCrisp®, Fuji, Granny Smith, Matsu, Pink Lady, Rome and Stayman. All apple variety pre-orders are sold in 1 peck bags which is approximately 10-12 pounds. These apples, as with all fruits we carry throughout the year, are not organic however Mercier Orchards does not spray once fruit appears on the trees. 

This year we are keeping our pre-order prices on the apples the same as last year. We are again running the buy more save more sale on all pre-ordered applevarieties. You can mix and match apple varieties to receive the discount, however the discount cannot be applied across multiple transactions.

 * 1 peck bag: $16.25
 * 2 bags: $15.75 / peck bag
 * 3 bags: $15.50 / peck bag
 * 4 bags: $15.25 / peck bag
 * 5 bags: $15.00 / peck bag
 * 6 bags or more: $14.50 / peck bag

New this year we will offer fresh apple cider (sold in plastic gallon jugs), five varieties of non-alcoholic sparkling cider (sold in 12 ounce cans) and three varieties of shelf stable cider (sold in 64 ounce glass jars). These ciders can be pre-ordered with the apples and will be available for pick up November 14-15.

Apple and cider pre-orders will be accepted until 8 AM ET on Monday, November 10th. Apples and ciders can be picked up on either Friday, November 14th between 4:30 - 6:30 PM or Saturday, November 15th between 9 AM - 12 PM.

Please order apples and ciders separate from other products, such as milk, eggs, cheeses and bakery products unless you intend to pick up those items with your apples and cider on November 14-15.

As in years past, we will offer apples for purchase by the pound in the market store beginning Friday, November 14th. We expect the price of apples in store to be slightly higher than our pre-order price for 1 bag. Pre-ordering ensures you get the variety of apples you want at the best price.

A few notes:
If you are accustomed to ordering apples by the bushel or box, you will need to order four bags for each bushel of apples. A bushel of apples is approximately 42-48 pounds

For those who are planning to can or freeze applesauce or apple butter, we use a mix of multiple varieties of apples. One bushel of apples makes approximately 15-20 quarts of applesauce.
